Volunteer Opportunities

1. Book Orders

Scholastic Book Orders are available for StWEA members at each meeting.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Kathryn Flees.

2. Pen Pals

StWEA members will be paired up with a 4th or 5th grader from Flynn Elementary School. Throughout the course of the year, the pen pal folder will be exchanged about seven times.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Raquel Ystad.

3. Tutoring/Mentoring

There are many opportunities to tutor through StWEA. We partner with elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Eau Claire School District.

If you would like to sign up to tutor or mentor, please e-mail Tiffany Tibbitts.

Events

1. Longfellow Elementary School Reading Program

Throughout the school year we will be collaborating with staff at Longfellow to encourage reading and access to books for students.

2. Halloween Carnival

Since the Carnival was such a success last year we will be holding another carnival this year on Saturday October 31st from 1p.m. to 5 p.m. We will need a lot of helpful and enthusiastic volunteers to pull of this awesome event!

3. Middle School Lock-In

In the spring, 6th graders from South, Northstar, DeLong, and Altoona Middle Schools come to McPhee Center for a night of fun.

To sign up for the planning committee or to volunteer at the event, please
e-mail Tiffany Tibbitts.
