StWEA local committees
Membership/Social
The membership/social committee is responsible for informing members of StWEA meetings by chalking the sidewalks, writing on classroom whiteboards, and hanging signs around campus. This committee is also in charge of recruiting new members by giving short presentations to Education classes at the beginning of each semester.
The membership/social committee plans socials for our members throughout the year.
Fundraising
The fundraising committee is responsible for planning fundraising events. Student WEA uses money raised to fund events and programs within our organization as well as service activities such as Operation Christmas Child.
Book Orders
The book order committee is responsible for providing Scholastic book orders to StWEA members at each meeting, collecting money and order forms, ordering books from Scholastic, and distributing books as they arrive.
Grants
There are two types of grants available from the National Education Association-Student Program (NEA-SP), CLASS and SOAR grants. The grant committee writes and submits grants to the NEA-SP each semester.
