Standup comedian Michael Palascak and mentalist-illusionist Wayne Hoffman will take the Zorn Arena stage at 8 p.m. Michael Palascak (pronounced PAL-a-sack) really likes to make people laugh -- primarily because it keeps them from asking why he still lives at home with his parents. He shares relatable moments about living at home and avoiding as much real-world responsibility as possible. "In performance, Michael Palascak fashions himself a slacker without means or ambition," wrote the Chicago Reader. "When his parents remind him he can't live with them forever, he replies with concern, 'Well, I don’t even wanna think about you guys dying.' "Thing is, he’s always busy performing -- in city and suburban showcases, on the radio, in competitions and festivals," reported the Chicago Reader, which named him the top standup comedian in its "Best of Chicago 2008." He won HBO's Lucky 21 Standup Contest, and Comedy Central's Open Mic Fight for the Chicago region. In his free time, Palascak plays baseball, watches TV, and compliments his mother on her cooking. Illusionist Wayne Hoffman first discovered his talents at age seven, when he received a magic set for Christmas. He spent many years at the local magic shop honing his craft and began performing professionally at age 15. At 18 he was touring the country with his show, "Mind Candy," and educating himself in sociology, psychology and human behavior. He plays college campuses and performs for some of the most exclusive parties and elite venues in the world with his psychological manipulation. In 2007 Hoffman was a contestant on the NBC-TV series, "Phenomenon," performing live for millions of viewers. He has also appeared on other networks including The Learning Channel and the Discovery Channel.
