The interactive family show will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. Dave Rudolf's madcap theatrical production of songs, humor and heavy audience participation makes for an ideal family event. It features kids twisting to the "Candy Cane Twist," hula hooping to "Santa's Got a Zoot Suit," some traditional holiday tunes, Christmas parodies ("Oh Come, Oh Come, I Read the Manual," "The Little Dumber Boy," "Frosty the Slow Man") and lots of yuletide joy. “Dave Rudolf captivates his audience," wrote the Chicago Sun Times. "Anything and everything that happens onstage or off during a Rudolf concert becomes fair game for his disarming wit." Rudolf is a Chicago-area singer, songwriter and children's book author who has entertained families and children with his wit and musical talent for more than 20 years. He has written lyrics for Second City and Disney, his latter effort earning him a gold record, and his tunes have been featured on such diverse radio programs as Kids Radio, Dr. Demento and NPR. A 15-time nominee for National Association of Campus Activities Awards, he has received numerous awards from parent groups, including three Parents' Choice Honor Awards. His clean sense of humor and infectious energy captivates both kids and adults alike and allows both groups to lose themselves in an enjoyable feel-good experience. "Bubba Christmas" (2008), a follow up to his popular "Completely Cracked Christmas" (2002), is Rudolf's 22nd album. Admission to the show is free. Candy canes, cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Donations of non-perishable food items for local food pantries are requested. The show is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. Featuring:

Standup comedian Michael Palascak and mentalist-illusionist Wayne Hoffman will take the Zorn Arena stage at 8 p.m. Michael Palascak (pronounced PAL-a-sack) really likes to make people laugh -- primarily because it keeps them from asking why he still lives at home with his parents. He shares relatable moments about living at home and avoiding as much real-world responsibility as possible. "In performance, Michael Palascak fashions himself a slacker without means or ambition," wrote the Chicago Reader. "When his parents remind him he can't live with them forever, he replies with concern, 'Well, I don’t even wanna think about you guys dying.' "Thing is, he’s always busy performing -- in city and suburban showcases, on the radio, in competitions and festivals," reported the Chicago Reader, which named him the top standup comedian in its "Best of Chicago 2008." He won HBO's Lucky 21 Standup Contest, and Comedy Central's Open Mic Fight for the Chicago region. In his free time, Palascak plays baseball, watches TV, and compliments his mother on her cooking. Illusionist Wayne Hoffman first discovered his talents at age seven, when he received a magic set for Christmas. He spent many years at the local magic shop honing his craft and began performing professionally at age 15. At 18 he was touring the country with his show, "Mind Candy," and educating himself in sociology, psychology and human behavior. He plays college campuses and performs for some of the most exclusive parties and elite venues in the world with his psychological manipulation. In 2007 Hoffman was a contestant on the NBC-TV series, "Phenomenon," performing live for millions of viewers. He has also appeared on other networks including The Learning Channel and the Discovery Channel. General admission seating is $7 for the public, or $5 for UW-Eau Claire Blugold Card holders and their family and guests. Tickets are available at the Service Center in Davies Center's east lobby, and will be sold at the door. Tickets for all campus events are also on sale at the Service Center's ticket office in the main lobby of Haas Fine Arts Center. The ticket outlet is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets may be charged to MasterCard or Visa when ordered by phone.
