plan, organize and publicize the campus-wide festivals that bring people
together -- Homecoming, Winter Carnival and Springfest. More information

entertaining men on campus wow us with their excellent talent and
beauty. Contestants will be judged on their winter apparel, talents,
formal wear and creative answers to probing questions. Winner
walks away with an awesome crown and bragging rights for a year!

Meet the recently crowned Mr. Freeze 2009 and get your
photo with this newly appointed and powerful campus official.
The UAC will take your picture with Mr. Freeze and send it
to you via email. Wouldn't that make a great Facebook photo!
Pictures with Mr. Freeze will take place on the Campus Mall and
in Davies Center. You might even find Mr. Freeze serving Chili!

Slam competition will receive a PAID local talent gig at

  • The competition will take place over the course of two nights
  • Performers must arrive at, or before, 7:45pm.
  • There is NO pre-signup, just show up ready to play.
  • All material must be original. No covers. No exceptions.
  • During each round, peformers will be allowed to play ONE song, no more.
  • No more than 7-minutes of performance. No exceptions.
  • 3 Judges will be selected from the audience at random.
  • 2 Judges will be prearranged by the UAC.
  • Each night will be a separate competition (each with its own winner)

    this hilarious free comedy show sponsored by the UAC. Featuring
    the talented comedic stylings of nationally touring, Comedy Central appearing, funny guys Chad Daniels and Sheng Wang, this will
    be an event that will leave you saying: "Boy howdy, that was a spectacularly terrific and side-achingly funny event."

    Higherground's adding a little heat to the Winter Carnival schedule
    with this dance party extravaganza. Don't miss your opportunity to
    bust a move to the spinning of UW-Eau Claire's finest DJs.

    When a soon-to-be married couple (Susan Sarandon & Barry
    Bostwick) have a breakdown in an isolated area, they must pay
    a call to the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). An
    audience participation cult classic and Winter Carnival tradition

    Head up to the BBC in Hilltop today for some fun-filled
    bowling action. Half-price games only sweetens the deal!

    Rock Band Tournament • Higherground • 5pm-8pm
    Teams must have four band members and all participants will play on
    the “medium” level for the majority of the tournament. Teams competing will choose a song from the selected song-group for that bracket. Band with the best total band-score for each bracket will advance to the next round. In the event of a tie, the same song will be replayed on the
    “hard” level and highest score will win. The final, championship round
    will feature the top two bands playing Green Grass and High Tides
    by The Outlaws on the “hard” level (we’re told this is the hardest
    song on the game). Best score in the final round will determine
    the 2009 Winter Carnival Rock Band Tournament Champions.
