Thank you for your interest in Student Senate.
Student Senate is an exceptional method to
enhance your educational experience and to grow
as a leader. Many Senators agree the best way we
grow is by learning to serve others.
Student Senate represents student interests by
recommending proposals to the University and UW
System Administration, Eau Claire City Council,
and the state and federal governments. We
allocate nearly 2.5 million dollars in
segregated fees to Organized Activities,
including Student Legal Services, UWEC
Athletics, Student Health Service, and many
others. Different commissions within Senate also
control another 2.5 million dollars with the
Information Technology Budget and Differential
Tuition. Aside from budgets and advocating,
Student Senate plans events throughout the year
including a Convocation Ice Cream Social, the
Michael Noll Fun-Run, Human Rights Awareness
Week, and countless others mentioned in this
brochure. There is a myriad of opportunity in
which you can serve fellow students.
There are many openings to join Student Senate.
It is open to all students enrolled in at least
six credits and in good academic standing.
Once you have decided to join Student Senate,
come to the Student Senate Office, located in
Davies 132B to fill out the proper applications.
If you have any questions, feel free to talk to
any of the Senators around the office. If you
have any problems, concerns, or just want to
chat, please contact us at any time. Thank you
for your interest!
Sincerely,
Raymond
