Student Senate Personal: Officers, Directors and Senators

     Officers include the president of the student body, vice-president, chief of staff, parliamentarian, secretary, and webmaster.  There are nine commission directors, one for each of the nine Student Senate commissions.  And there are 30 senators, 11 on-campus and 19 off-campus, elected from the student body at large.  The Student Senate is advised by Jodi Thesing-Ritter.

     Student Senate passes two kinds of legislation bills and resolutions.

   -  Bills require two-thirds to pass and usually relate to the approval of funds or are changes to our bylaws and constitution.

   -  Resolutions are non-binding recommendations passed by a simple majority giving a student opinion on issues relating to local, university, state, and national policies.
