A screening of the popular local filmmaking project, the 48-Hour Video Project Theme: Martial Arts
Local Independent Filmmakers, along with Chippewa Valley Community Television, proudly present another installment of the 48-Hour Video Project. The project will kick off at the Community Television complex located within Banbury Place (800 Wisconsin St., suite 405) on Friday, October 2 at 7pm. This year's project theme is Martial Arts. On that Friday evening, a $10 entry will be collected and participants will recieve the prop and line of dialogue that must appear in their films. Participants are welcome to script, storyboard and plan their project all they want, but no filming should be done before the start of the project. This year’s showing will be family-friendly, so if your program has any profanity or mature situations, it must be edited for the showing at Davies. You may submit an uncensored version to play on Community Television after 10 pm. Completed videos should run 1-10 minutes and must be turned in by 7pm on Sunday, October 4. Videos will be turned in to the Community Television complex. Accepted formats are miniDV, VHS, S-VHS, digital 8 or a Microsoft AVI burned onto a data DVD-R. Widescreen films not letterboxed by the filmmaker will have tall, thin actors. The University Activities Commission Films Committee will host a screening of completed projects and an awards ceremony for the winners in Davies Theatre, Davies Center on Tuesday, October 27 at 7pm. A pre-screening reception will be held in the Dulany of Davies Center starting at 6pm. The video project screening is free and open to everyone. Event sponsors include Chippewa Valley Community Television, for the use of the station and equipment. The University Activities Commission (UAC) of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate for screening the films and for the use of Davies Theatre. Volume One for promotions and materials. |
