Beta Nu Chapter of Pi Delta Phi National French Honors Society was chartered on campus in 1955.

The purpose of this society is to foment a wider knowledge of and greater love for the contributions of France to world culture, to stimulate greater activity and interest in French language, literature and civilization, and to foster a friendly spirit between peoples of French and English speech.

Membership is open to majors and minors in French language or literature who have completed at least one semester of upper division work in French with gradepoint averages of at least 3.0 in French courses and 2.8 overall.

At least two regular meetings are held each year. Officers are elected at the first meeting of the academic year.
