This organization was formed in Wisconsin in 1949, and UWEC in 1956.

The purposes of the Democratic Youth Caucus are: to create an active and increased interest in and awareness of government, so as to help and assist in its functions, to foster new ideas to benefit the people of Eau Claire County, the state, and the nation, and to support the candidates of the Democratic Party in national, state and local elections, toward the end of promoting the ideas that form the basis of the Democratic Party.

Active membership is open to all students under 26 years of age. Honorary membership may be granted to persons over 26 years of age.

Meetings are open to all interested persons. Election of officers is conducted in May.
