Der Deutsche Verein was formed in 1960.

Its purpose is to acquaint its members with the German language and the German culture.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in the study and practice of German.

Meetings, which feature slides of Germany, discussion of culture, planning of activities, and refreshments, are usually held at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday. Officers are elected at the final meeting each year.
