The Association was formed in 1971 as Eta Phi, and was renamed in 1973.
The purpose of ASSW is to assemble students interested in the professional field of social work as a future career; to instruct the members of the Association in the essentials of leadership; and to improve and complement the curricula as offered at the undergraduate level of the university.
Membership is open to all undergraduate students, irrespective of their course of study.
Meetings are held twice each month. Election of officers is conducted at the end of each semester. New officers assume duties on December 16th and May 7th.
