Delta Mu Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda was chartered on the UWEC campus in 1967, as a division of the national organization of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA-PBL Inc.), founded in 1937.

The goal of PBL is to assist young adults enrolled in business programs to develop vocational competencies and a sense of civic responsibility. PBL is designed to be an extension of the instructional program, thus being an integral part of the business curriculum. The specific purposes of Delta Mu Chapter are: to develop competent, aggressive business leadership; to strengthen the confidence of young men and women in themselves and their work; to develop an interest in local business activities; to develop a better relationship among business, school and teachers; to encourage enthusiasm and pride in the business field; and to develop character, train for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.

Membership is open to all students with an interest in business.
