Beta Upsilon Sigma Fraternity was founded on the Eau Claire campus in 1958, and was incorporated in 1968.
The purposes of BUS are: to enrich the members' understanding of accounting, business and economics outside the classroom, to promote activities on the campus which further each member's education in the business field, to facilitate placement of members upon graduation, and to promote business fellowship through social events.
Students interested in acquiring an understanding of finance and the stock market may wish to become active participants of Beta Upsilon Sigma Scholarship Investment Corporation.
Students' education in the business world are augmented by the recent incorporation of the Business Development Corporation which endeavors to prepare and provide a service the way most any small business would.
BUS is open to any student enrolled at UWEC who has a major or minor in the School of Business, the Department of Economics or Business Education who has earned at least 15, but not more than 75 credits, and has earned a 2.20 or higher cumulative gradepoint average.
