Women's Rugby Club was founded on March 5, 1997.

The purpose of Women's Rugby is to represent UWEC in competition in the sport of rugby in the Wisconsin Rugby Football Union.

Furthermore, Women's Rugby Club seeks to create a camaraderie among female University students with a common interest in rugby and encourages involvement and participation in extracurricular activities at the University.
