Phi Sigma Phi (formerly Phi Sigma Epsilon) is a national social fraternity which was founded in 1910. The Phi Beta Chapter was established at UWEC in 1952, making it the first and oldest national social fraternity on campus.

Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity, Inc. was established to promote a closer bond among male students of higher educational institutions and to provide an atmosphere in their college home in which fellowship and alumni guidance would lead to wholesome mental, moral, physical, and spiritual growth. Phi Sigma Phi actively supports and augments college and community efforts to make individual members more mature and chapter groups more useful units of society.

Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity, Inc. strives to promote high standards of preparation for post graduate life by inviting persons to membership who recognize the need for a well-rounded education. Through its alumni and undergraduate leadership, the Fraternity endeavors to assist each member to develop

  1. high scholarship rating equivalent to his ability
  2. responsibility to his chapter, college, community, and country
  3. interests outside of regular scholastic studies that employ spare time to his advantage
  4. leadership which stems from the practice of democratic self-government.

Meetings are held weekly, and elections are conducted at the end of the fall semester.
