The IFC was established at UWEC in September 1966.
The purposes of the Inter-fraternity Council are to secure harmony in relationships among member fraternities, to promote the welfare and moral standard of fraternity men, to preserve the high ideals of fraternities, to promote academic excellence, to serve as liaison between member fraternities and the administration of the university, and to promote good civic relations.
Membership in IFC is representational, with two regular and one pledge delegates to IFC being selected by each member social and service fraternity desiring membership.
Meetings are held bi-weekly at a time and place designated by the president. Election of officers is conducted at the second regular meeting in December and May.
