The Society of Participating Honor Students (SOPHS) was formed in the fall of 1977.
The purpose of SOPHS is to acknowledge and encourage both outstanding scholastic achievement and significant service to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Members are selected from freshmen in the upper 35% (GPA) of their class who were active in campus and community activities.
Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month with the election of officers at the first meeting in November.
