Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society, Theta Chapter, was chartered on the UWEC campus in September 1974.

Its purposes include: to recognize high scholastic achievement in economics, to create greater academic, social, and professional contact between the students and faculty within the discipline of economics at this university as well as further outstanding work in economics.

Undergraduate membership includes those juniors and seniors in the top 35% of their class having completed at least 12 credits in economics with an average of better than 3.0 while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA in all university work. Five other categories of membership are graduate, faculty and administrative, honorary, alumni, and associate.

Omicron Delta Epsilon holds one business meeting per month. Officers are elected at the final business meeting of the second semester, and assume their duties immediately.
