The Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education was founded in 1911, and the Epsilon Omicron Chapter was chartered at UWEC in 1943.
The purpose of this chapter is: to encourage high professional, intellectual, and personal standards; maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members; and to quicken professional growth by honoring achievement in educational work.
Membership is open to students who have declared a major in elementary, secondary, or special education, have an overall GPA of 32.5 or higher, express an intention of continuing in the field of education, and give evidence of leadership abilities and ideals.
If a student is of sophomore standing and meets the above requirements, they may pledge Kappa Delta Pi. If they are of junior or senior standing, they may be initiated into Kappa Delta Pi as an active member.
There are at least seven regular meetings of the chapter each academic year. Officers are elected at the April meeting.
