Goals of S.O.S.
S.O.S. has the following goals:
- Volunteer activities in the community (Community Table, etc)
- Having respected members from the Sociology field speak at the Sociology department award ceremony in the spring
- Learning about job possibilities related to Sociology (UW-EC Career Services)
- Inviting UW-EC Sociology alumni speakers
- Tutoring students in Sociology classes
- Volunteer globablly (Goat Project)
- Participating in intramural sports
Who Can Join S.O.S?
ANYONE! If you are interested in Sociology you can join, you aren't required to be a Sociology major or minor. The only restriction is that you must be either a major or minor if you would like to be President or Vice President.
When Can I Join S.O.S?
ANYTIME! We have meetings year round and you can join at anytime during the year.
Why Join S.O.S?
S.O.S members form personal relationships with sociology majors/minors, members, and faculty; as well as discussing current issues related to the topic of sociology.
