Letters from England
Sigma Tau Delta's own VP Megan Bell is studying in Harlaxton, England this semester and has agreed to share some of her thoughts with us. It's a great read for anyone who's wished to go overseas or has and misses it! Click above for Megan's impressions on her experiences this semester.
Great news! The Theta Zeta Chapter has just been selected as a 2006 Outstanding Sigma Tau Delta Chapter. There are over 600 chapters internationally, so this award is quite an honor.
We will receive the award formally (a plaque and a check) at the national convention in Portland, Oregon, in late March.
This award underscores the hard work of the active Sigma Tau Delta members in the service projects, the writing contests, the book sales, and the English community involvement. Special acknowledgment is due to Dan Hardy and Gloria Hochstein, who worked many hours last fall to write the application to be considered and to assemble all the documentation required.
You can read the letter we were sent about this great news here. Great job everyone!
This semester STD is proud to be in its 50th year at Eau Claire, and we have lots of things planned.
-We will host a number of film discussions in cooperation with WAGE (Women's and Gender Equity Center) and UAC Films ( University Activities Commission Films).
-A benefit concert send books to schools overseas.
-Faculty speakers at many of our meetings for information and entertainment.
-Our Annual Children's Writing Contest. This year, for the first time we will be expanding the contest to high school students, which should be a lot of fun.
For more detailed information about any of these events, please look to our Calendar and Meeting Notes pages. And of course, feel free to contact an officer with any questions.
