Each year the Theta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire sponsors writing contests for K-6th and 7-12th grades.

*Guidelines

  • Each student may submit up to two original works
  • Maximum length of a work is the equivalent of five pages double spaced
  • Each submission should have its own cover sheet which must be signed by both the student and a parent/guardian
  • Submissions you would like returned must be accompanied by a self addressed, stamped envelope (please use sufficient postage)
  • Submissions for the 2009 Children's Writing Contest and Young Adults' Writing Contest are due by March 28, 2009.

Winners' Book Order Forms

All students receive one copy of the book their work appears in. In addition, each school represented will receive a copy of the book in which work of students from that school is displayed. We also offer the opportunity for family and teachers of the winners to purchase extra copies; the money raised goes directly into funding the writing contests. If you would like to purchase additional copies, a form will be mailed to you, or use one of the forms below.

Additionally, if you'd like to support the Writing Contests without purchasing a book, we accept donations. Any money received will be used only to run the Children's and Young Adults' Writing Contests. If you'd like more information please email us at engl56@uwec.edu
