In Septemeber 2003, three students and their advisor took on the challenge of creating UW-Eau Claire's
first Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team. We strive to improve the Eau Claire community,
establish UW-Eau Claire SIFE in the minds of local businesses and organizations, and further develop
team members' skills.

In April 2004, UW-Eau Claire SIFE was named "Rookie of the Year" at the SIFE United States Regional
Competition sponsored by REGIS Corporation. Executives from the following companies judged the competition:
Siyeza, Inc., Regis Corporation, Wal-Mart, Eastman Kodak, Lariat Co., Jacobs Management Corporation,
General Mills, Inc., The Schwan's Food Company, Wells Fargo Investments, LLC, The Paper Magic Group,
Hormel Foods Corporation, and Malt-O-Meal. Teams were judged on a four-page Annual Report and a 24-minute
presentation.

The following companies were on hand at the Regional Competition to recruit SIFE Team members:
Applied Industrial Technologies, Best Buy, Cargill, CVS/pharmacy, Enterprise, Finish-Line, Liberty
Tax Service, Office Depot, Petco, Radio Shack, Regis, Walgreens, and Wells Fargo Financial.
