Joyce received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1970 from UW-Eau Claire and completed the Nurse-Physician Team program at UW-Madison in 1978 to receive her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 1979. She has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in the Eau Claire area for 30 years with Group Health Cooperative and Marshfield Clinic prior to joining the Student Health Service in 2008. She provides health care for women and men emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, and includes each individual in decision making for their health care and healthy lifestyle choices. In her leisure time she likes to spend time with her family, outside in the garden, or just outside doing anything.
