Guidelines for the WAGE Zine

Submissions for the WAGE zine:

- must be consistent with the WAGE mission statement, which is as follows:

The mission of the UWEC Women’s And Gender Equity Center is to advocate for the welfare of those who have historically been marginalized because of their sexual and/or gender identity. We will create a supportive environment that fosters feelings of good will, tolerance, and respect for people of all religions, races, socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender.

- must allow for the free expression concerning controversial topics as long as it doesn’t conflict with the WAGE mission statement.

- must not degrade, marginalize, minimize, humiliate or otherwise devalue any human beings, their experiences, feelings or viewpoints.

- can include an array of creative expressions including, but not limited to drawings, photography, poems, fiction and non-fiction short stories, statements, notes, letters or collages.

- cannot come from a commercial source.

- All work submitted must be original; please include the following statement with each piece of work submitted: “This confirms that this work is entirely original and my own” followed by your full name.

- WAGE reserves the right to withhold any material that could be potentially libelous, including but not limited to the use of a person’s name or picture without legal permission.

- WAGE also reserves the right to withhold any and all material it sees as unsuitable for print on grounds which may not have been stated in aforementioned guidelines.

- WAGE also reserves the right to update these guidelines every semester.
