A. Making your resume stronger
• Having SAS on your resume is a great way to set yourself apart.B. Networking
• Each meeting features a different speaker, many of whom reach out to us because they want the opportunity to be on campus and meet students.C. A great way to learn more about the profession and the local and regional firms.
• As noted above, many of the speakers are firms looking to hire Eau Claire students, and attending the meetings can give you a good look at what each company is like.D. Being involved in SAS is also a great way to meet other students that share your interests.
SAS offers students an opportunity to meet and learn about different accounting firms. With both private and public companies presenting, students can begin to learn about their different career options and opportunities. The speaker at each meeting spends the majority of the time talking about a certain accounting or career related topic and then some time at the end talking about his or her firm specifically.
Some of the firms who have spoken in the past include:Not only are SAS meetings a great chance for students to get to know their peers, it is a great opportunity for students to begin expanding their professional network. SAS members will have to opportunity to speak one on one with accounting professionals before and after the regular meetings. The accounting professionals allow questions during their presentation, which gives members another chance to ask questions about the presented topic or the firm itself.
