Emphasizes knowledge of the factors and processes affecting
communication in relatively unstructured face-to-face contexts, and
the development of communication skill in those contexts. Topics
include relationships, conflict, self- concept, and
self-presentation.

CJ Program Goals
and Objectives. The
academic programs of the UWEC Department of Communication and
Journalism are designed to prepare students for responsible
roles in communication, journalism, and mass
communication. The Department offers diversified
curriculum in which all students can expect to develop in these
areas: |

written, and visual communication skills;

written, and visual communication, interpersonal social problems,
and critical anlytical thinking in classroom discussions and in oral

influence interpersonal communication and other group dynamics);
and an appreciation of the university as a learning community
(learning groups). |
