Yu Wei Chinese Dance Collection

Yu Wei began creating her dance collection in Beijing in 1992 under the direction of nationally known dance master Zhang Ke. Based on Chinese culture and history and inspired by nature, Yu Wei's choreography is drawn from the styles of Chinese traditional, classical, folk, Western ballet and modern dance.

Dancer and choreographer Cathy "Cat" Manturuk will be at UW-Eau Claire as Artist-in-Residence in the Music & Theatre Arts Department from Sunday, November 16 through Saturday, November 22, 2008. She will be a guest lecturer in the Dance Appreciation and ballet and tap classes, choreograph a new work for the Concert Dance Company to be performed at the spring Danceworks concert, as well as present a dance master class to the university and greater Eau Claire community.
