Library Systems

The Library Systems Unit is responsible for the administration, networking and operation of the library computer system. This system integrates an online public access catalog, circulation control, catalog data entry and reserve circulation functions. The online catalog may be accessed from any computer that has a web browser installed on it. All University of Wisconsin System libraries, including Madison and Milwaukee, are using the same system. This means you can search other Wisconsin Libraries either simultaneously or individually from within the McIntyre Library database by selecting Other Catalogs

Library Systems also ensures that other online databases the library subscribes to are available to university faculty, staff and students. University Cable Modem users will have the same access that they would have from any computer located on campus without any additional configuration of their browser. If your access from home is though an Internet Service Provider, you must use our proxy server for authentication. See Remote Access to Library Databases

The library now provides an electronic reserve collection through the online catalog course reserve. Access to these electronic documents is restricted to university personnel and students. Logging in with your private university account authenticates users.
