Rules can help you organize your email in Entourage. Rules allow you to set actions that will be performed automatically after receiving a message that meets criteria you set. Many times it will be necessary to modify a Rule you have created due to changes in email addresses and other criteria. This document contains information on modifying existing Rules. For general instructions on how to use Rules, refer to Using Rules to Organize Your Email.
Changing a Rule follows many of the same steps as creating a new Rule. You are able to proceed through the same menus as when you created the Rule.
From the Tools menu, select Rules...
The Rules dialog box appears.

Select the Mail (Exchange) tab
Double click the rule you would like to modify
The Edit Rule dialog box appears.
In the Edit Rule dialog box, make the desired changes
NOTE: For further instructions on how to customize Rules, refer to Using Rules to Organize Your Email.
To change the name of the rule, in the Rule name text box, make the desired changes
To add an If criteria, click ADD CRITERION![]()
To add a Then criteria, click ADD ACTION![]()
Click OK
Close the Edit Rule dialog box
Changing the order in which Rules are applied can control how the messages are selected. This is especially useful if, from the Edit Rule dialog box, the Do not apply other rules to messages that meet these criteria is selected. Moving a Rule up in the list order will ensure that it is applied to all messages, while moving it down will ensure that the Rule is applied only to those messages that do not qualify for the action set by rules above it.
From the Tools menu, select Rules...
The Rules dialog box appears.
Select the Mail (Exchange) tab
Select the Rule you wish to move
To move the Rule up or down in the list, click MOVE UP
or MOVE DOWN
as appropriate
OR
Click and drag the selected Rule to a new location in the list
The Rule moves accordingly.
