COMPREHENSIVE MAJOR: ART
This degree is a specialty in studio
arts and is the appropriate program for art students planning careers in
Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Painting, Sculpture,
Printmaking, Drawing, and Ceramics, as well as for art majors who are
planning to attend graduate school.Minimum seventy-five semester

Additional B.F.A. Requirements
1. To apply, students must have a
GPA of 3.00 or higher in Art and Art History courses; after admission to
the B.F.A. program students must maintain a 3.00 or higher GPA in Art
and Art History courses.
2. Students enter the B.F.A.
degree program by participation in and passage of
B.F.A. Review, offered each semester. B.F.A. Review guidelines are determined by the individual areas and are available in the Department of Art & Design office, HFA 104. A student may apply to the B.F.A. program after completing at least 21 credits in art including all foundations courses, but before the completion of 36 credits in art.*
3. B.F.A. degree majors must
participate in a Senior Review. This review takes the form of a B.F.A.
Degree Candidate's Graduating Senior Exhibition. It takes place in the
student’s final semester, either in the Foster Gallery or elsewhere in
Eau Claire.
*NOTE: Transfer students much check with the department and their newly assigned advisers to determine their position within the department programs and what requirements they will need to meet if they are interested in pursuing the B.F.A. degree.
