Participation in ROTC at UW-Stout

UW-Eau Claire students interested in participating in the ROTC program that will be offered at UW-Stout beginning with the first term of the 2005-06 academic year should complete the following registration procedures at UW-Stout:

1. Contact the UW-Stout ROTC Department to notify the Professor of Military Science about your intentions. To contact the ROTC department call (715) 232-5629 or 5631 or email bolstads@uwstout.edu.
2. Check the class schedule for the courses being offered under the prefix MSL at http://www.uwstout.edu/opencourses/fall/open.html#MSL.
3. Print out the UW-Stout special student application form found at http://www.uwstout.edu/admissions/adm_reentry.pdf and the Payment Plan Agreement/Application form found at http://www.uwstout.edu/stubus/ppagree.pdf and fill out these forms. The tuition for participating in the ROTC program at UW-Stout is separate from UW-Eau Claire tuition and fees, and will not apply to the credit "plateau."
4. Deliver or mail the completed form to the UW-Stout Admissions Office:

5. Upon acceptance as a student, go to the Registrar's Office at Room 109 Bowman Hall and fill out a UW-Stout Program Card to register for the course. You must also bring proof that you are a full-time student at UW-Eau Claire.
6. Once you are registered for the course, go to the Student Business Services at Room 126 of the Administration Building to arrange payment for the course.
7. If you are eligible for financial aid, consult the financial aid office at UW-Eau Claire to determine if they can assist in paying for the course. To be eligible for funding, your ROTC credits must transfer back to UW-Eau Claire and must be used to meet a specific degree requirement.
8. If at any time during this process you have problems, contact the UW-Stout ROTC department for assistance.
9. Upon completion of your coursework, be sure to have an official UW-Stout transcript sent to UW-Eau Claire:

10. Due to proximity, most students concurrently enrolled in UW-Eau Claire and an ROTC program will be attending UW-Stout. However, several other
    UW- institutions offer ROTC, and those military science credits will also transfer as general electives to UW-Eau Claire.
11. Any questions regarding the ROTC program should be sent to the Provost Office.
