Suspension
You
will be suspended from the University if one or both of the
following occur:
(1)
You have failed to reach good academic standing
by the end of a probation semester.
(2)
You receive a semester GPA of less than 1.0 at the end of
any semester.
The
first suspension will be for one semester. Any subsequent suspension will be for one year.
Appeal
Process
You
may appeal your suspension if you feel that there were
circumstances beyond your control that kept you from reaching
good standing. Instructions on how to appeal will
be mailed to you at your permanent address (as listed on
the Blugold System)
one week
following the end of the final examination period. You should
receive them within a few days after they are mailed.
If
you plan to appeal, watch deadlines carefully. Contact the
appropriate office for answers to any questions about the appeal
process.

Readmission
following Suspension
If you want to
return to UW-Eau Claire after
the suspension period has passed, you must reapply through the Admissions office.
Readmission is not guaranteed. Readmission is decided on a
case-by-case basis after a thorough evaluation of your academic record and
potential for success in earning a degree at UW-Eau Claire.
Although
suspended students may not attend classes during Spring or Fall
semesters, a suspended student may attend as a "special
student" during the Winterim or Summer. Special students
are not eligible for financial aid.
