The University Recreation Fitness Center is located on upper campus in the Crest Wellness Building. This state-of-the-art facility provides any fitness enthusiast with ample offerings for the ultimate workout. The Center features: a contemporary atmosphere, a scenic view overlooking the Chippewa Valley, five flat screen televisions featuring the Broadcast Vision entertainment package, large free weight and cardio rooms, locker and shower facilities, and a massage room. Hardware includes: Cybex and Paramount selectorized equipment, extensive free weight equipment, treadmills, Precor and Reebok elliptical steppers, recumbent and upright bikes, stairclimbers, Nordic Tracks, and a rowing machine.

Dual Fitness Center Membership

In an attempt to enhance customer service for UW-Eau Claire students, faculty/staff, student/faculty/staff spouses, and CVTC students who reside in UWEC residence halls, University Recreation & Sport Facilities is offering the option of dual memberships for Crest Fitness Center and the McPhee Strength & Performance Center.

The following information is provided to help clarify the proposed offerings and the implementation timeline:

Standard Fee (For the Crest Wellness Center and MSPC)

• One Semester - $42.00
• Academic Year - $74.00
• Annual - $95.00
• Summer Session - $21.00

Dual Facility Access Fee (Additional fee for accessing both facilities)

• One Semester - $11.00
• Academic Year - $22.00
• Annual - $28.00
• Summer - $6.00

Where to Get a Membership
Crest Fitness Center memberships must be purchased at the Hilltop Recreation Center Office.
MSPC memberships must be purchased at the McPhee Information Desk.
Dual memberships will be available at both the Hilltop Recreation Center Office and at McPhee.

How to Become a Member

If you would like to become a member of the Fitness Center, please bring your UW-Eau Claire Blugold card to the Recreation Office in the Hilltop Center, complete a membership card, and pay the applicable fee.

2. Are Personal Trainers available?
   For just $25, student trainers are available to help you reach your fitness goals. The $25 fee cover four hours of personalized instruction. Registration and fees are accepted at the Hilltop Recreation Office. See the Body One Program section for more information.
3. What services are included with membership?
   
   • Optional facility and equipment orientation
   • Access to the Fitness Center during operating hours with your valid ID card
   • Complimentary Fitness & Nutrition Assessments
   • Shower, locker room, and towel services
4. Where do I sign-up for membership or a personal trainer?
   You may sign up for membership at the Hilltop Recreation Office. We accept cash, check, Blugold card, Visa, or Mastercard. A UW-Eau Claire ID is required.
5. How many staff are there?
   We have approximately 15-20 student staff
6. Are there group classes?
   We offer a variet of group classes. Check them out on the Group Exercise Webpage
7. What are the busy hours for Crest Fitness Center?
   These hours change frequently depending on the time of the year
8. Should we bring our own towels?
   Towels are provided as well as day lockers and showers
9. Are there nutrition/power bars available at Crest?
   Yes, nutrition bars can be purchased for $1.00

The Fitness and Nutrition Assessment Program is available for members who want raw data on their current fitness level. This FREE assessment evaluates body composition, lower back and hip flexibility, blood pressure, cardiovascular endurance, heart rate, muscular strength, and muscular endurance. Once this testing is completed, you can see how you rank compared to the national averages. You can also choose to have a nutrition analysis completed. The results of this assessment will give you a solid foundation for establishing proper nutrition habits. For the most effective wellness strategy, this is the thing to do!

The Body One Program incorporates personalized training to help develop effective exercise techniques for individualized needs. The programs are designed to enhance muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Body One is also the program for those sports fanatics interested in improving skills in a specific sport. There is a $25 fee for four hours of personalized training.
