About The Program

The office of University Recreation at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire offers internships each semester during the academic year. The program is intended for students completing an undergraduate or graduate degree in recreation or a related field. Interns gain leadership and supervisory experiences in all aspects of our comprehensive programs, including:

Positions Available

We are looking for ambitious applicants interested in using their skills and having fun! Work schedules vary.

Marketing/Advertising Student Position

• Federal Work Study is a must.
• 4 Positions are open.
• Starting date: 01/28/08
• Students will assist in marketing and advertising numerous events that University Recreation & Sport Facilities have scheduled.
• Set up of a 10 x 10 promotional tent is required.
• Communicate with students about upcoming events through flyers and by word of mouth.
• Marketing/Communication majors are a plus.
• Outgoing personality is a must.
• Wage: $6.50

Bowling and Billiards Center Assistants

"BBC" assistants are responsible for cash handling at the counter and assigning billiard tables and bowling lanes to patrons.

Intramural Referees, Umpires, and Scorekeepers

Officials are needed for basketball, softball, football, volleyball, broomball, boot hockey, and ice hockey.

Open Recreation Assistants

Open Recreation Assistants and Supervisors monitor open gyms, indoor tennis courts, racquetball courts, and the indoor track.

Lifeguards

Certified lifeguards are required to monitor pool activities.

Fitness Center Assistants

We need people interested in training members and monitoring a newly remodeled Fitness Center featuring state of the art Paramount and Cybex equipment.

Eagle's View Challenge Ropes Course / Indoor Climbing Wall

Positions are available for Facilitators on the Eagle's View Challenge Ropes Course. Facilitators lead participants in climbing wall, zip line, and rope bridge adventures. The Ropes Course is a seasonal program where groups engage in team building and cooperative activities.
