Join UWEC PRSSA

All majors are encouraged to join!
- You will learn skill sets that can be used across all types of job settings
Much of our chapter consists of Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business Administration, Web Design, and Art majors

Recruitment begins at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester
Non-members are able to attend the first few meetings of the year until PRSSA National fees are turned in on February 19, 2013
Once dues are in, UWEC PRSSA becomes member exclusive

The fee to join UWEC PRSSA is $65.00
- Dues must be paid by February 19, 2013 to our treasurer, Jolie
- $50 of this fee goes directly towards PRSSA Nationals - a nationally recognized organization

You receive access to PRSSA's internship and job center that is exclusive to only those who are members of a PRSSA chapter

The remaining $15 goes to the UWEC PRSSA Chapter to cover various costs for transportation, advertising and recruitment among many other things.
For every person you recruit, you will receive $5 off of you dues
Your membership to PRSSA lasts a FULL YEAR, so this $65 fee is worthwhile

If you are studying abroad, we still encourage you to join!
- You can be a member while you are away, or join the next semester that you are back
  - Many schools around the country also have PRSSA chapters that your membership dues will cover

Our chapter typically meets every Tuesday from 6 - 7 pm
- Each month, we have one general meeting, one workshop, one social and one fundraiser
There are always extra opportunities to get involved with that can take up more time
- Once a semester, we go on a tour of a public relations agency, corporate office or non-profit in the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Madison or Chicago area
- We also volunteer in the community and at on campus events such as blood drives and Internship Mania
- UWEC PRSSA has two committees that you can join:
  - The Public Relations Committee helps plan socials, writes our monthly newsletter and plans our recruitment among many other tasks.
  - The Fundraising Committee helps plan fundraisers, tours, alumni relations and manages our budget.
- After some time spent with the chapter, you can run for Executive Board and help plan out the enirety of UWEC PRSSA's year
