Active involvement in PRSSA set my resume apart from the pack. Recruiters recognize PRSSA and have asked about my role within the organization as a talking point in several interviews. I think it shows a commitment to professional and personal development as a PR professional; it shows you are passionate and serious about the career path you’ve chosen. On the personal side, PRSSA workshops, speakers and agency trips helped me explore the many opportunities PR offers while allowing me to network with both professionals and future professionals. Overall, it was a great organization – that’s why I was part of it for three years!
