Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department (HSPHD) is seeking for a Public Health Research Analyst. This position is a part of the Epidemiology and Assessment Team that is responsible for data analysis and reporting, survey research, and evaluation design to monitor health trends and make decisions. The team measures the health status and risk factors of Hennepin County residents; identifies and evaluates resources; and informs and advises managers, policy makers, and the general public. The position will provide leadership in the implementation of population-based surveys of Hennepin County residents. Salary: $50,662.56 - $78,757.12 Annually Desirable Qualifications:
One of the following: Master's degree or higher in public health, health services research, statistics, epidemiology, and/or related field PLUS two years or more of experience in program planning and evaluation, research design, and/or statistical analysis including project management. Bachelor's degree in the above field(s) PLUS three years or more of experience in program planning and evaluation, research design, and/or statistical analysis including project management. Experience in population-based survey research and advanced statistical analyses. Experience working with diverse communities. Experience using research to support program quality improvements and inform public policy. Proficient skills with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software such as Stata, SPSS, ArcGIS, and/or NVivo. Skill with EPIC Clarity reporting. Ability to: Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; produce concise, understandable, and technically competent reports using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Determine research and program requirements. Prepare statistical reports of research design and methodology, findings, and recommendations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including public and private officials and planning groups. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form; make presentations. Coordinate and facilitate research and evaluation teams. Provide work direction to paraprofessional and professional staff.
