This internship program will give you a chance to learn more about the various disciplines in environmental health, and to assist you in developing interests and skills into a fulltime career in environmental health. PROPOSED SALARY: $12 an hour
DATE OF INTERNSHIP: May-August Full time; September –April Part time
REQUIREMENTS: Ethnic minority Undergraduate student in a college or university Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of U.S. or its possessions Must be a junior or senior in any of the natural sciences Must have a minimum 2.5 G.P.A Must be able to work outdoors Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
JOB DESCRIPTION: Summer Interns: Primary duties will include inspection of swimming pools, tanning facilities, mobile homes, migrant labors, group care, food sanitation, etc. Fall and Spring Interns: Primary duties include indoor projects dealing with the various areas stated above. Also occasional inspections will be done. Applicants will need to complete and submit an application (download application @ http://www.doh.state.fl.us/environment/community/internship.html), a copy of their school unofficial transcript, and a letter of recommendation from their faculty advisor.
