In this role you will: • Oversee two safety committees with a broad range of staff at two secure treatment facilities. • Develop programs to promote employee and client health and safety and ensure workers’ compensation costs are contained. • Serve as a leader responsible for the provisions of complex on-site safety and health direction and provide specialized expertise as required. • Develop, implement, and manage programs to monitor and audit the effectiveness of accident, injury, and illness prevention programs to minimize injuries, illnesses, hazardous conditions, and environmental concerns. • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Location: This is a full-time day shift position that has the opportunity to be located at either of our treatment facilities (St. Peter and Moose Lake) or at our central office in St. Paul. Travel will be required to all 3 locations on a regular basis. Most travel will be day trips with occasional overnight stays.
The Ideal Candidate will have: A Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or highly related field and at least three years of professional relevant experience within a large organization which demonstrates: • Thorough knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health rules and regulations, cumulative trauma injury prevention, ergonomics, techniques of injury prevention and hazard evaluation; • A basic understanding of industrial hygiene; • Leadership skills sufficient to effectively facilitate meetings and bring groups and committees to productive and solutions-focused conclusions; • Demonstrated ability to identify occupational safety and health problems and to develop, support and implement solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or highly related field. • Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Professional. • Experience in a 24/7 environment and/or a secure facility.
