The company has an immediate opening for a new Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist located at the Mundelein, Illinois headquarters. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the EHS Department in implementing corporate EHS strategies and initiatives in Medline manufacturing and distribution facilities. We are seeking a hard-working professional with a solid education and background in EHS. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, the ideal team-player must have a roll-up your sleeves attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
The challenging duties and responsibilities for a Manager of EHS include:
Direct implementation of safety and environment programs, policies, management systems and strategies to support Medline business operations.
Perform Environmental, Health and Safety audits.
Conduct training for line employees on EPA, OSHA, DOT, NFPA and other standards.
Coordinate with Divisional Management on EHS improvements and initiatives.

The required skills for this position are:
BS in Environmental Health or equivalent. (more emphasis would be needed in experience around safety)
2-4 years of practical experience in Environmental, Health and Safety in industrial field.
Will consider MS in related areas of study and 1+ years of related experience --internship, student employment, etc.
Strong knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA and related standards
Travel up to 25% after 6 months
Ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to drive results and to effectively manage programs and projects
Additional skills a plus:
Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish
OSHA 10 and 30 hour
Educate to ASP, CSP or LSP
