"Right now I am working for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), which is the largest tribally managed health organization in the country. ANTHC is responsible for the provision of healthcare and public health services to over 220 federally-recognized Alaska Native tribes throughout the state.
I am currently working in our community environmental health field program. I travel to remote areas of rural Alaska and conduct surveys of health clinics, water, wastewater and solid waste systems. Our program also surveys head starts and administers rabies vaccination clinics. I am involved with research and special projects as well. We are currently preparing to launch a healthy homes/indoor air quality study that will be underway this fall. If the study is successful, the model will be used for similar projects with partners in both Canada and Mexico.
My work here is very diverse and rewarding and gives me a chance to gain real, hands-on experience in environmental health. Some of the greatest benefits of the job are being able to work with many different people, learn new cultures and travel to parts of Alaska that many people never have the opportunity to see.
If you have any questions, are interested in environmental health, or would like to learn more, please feel free to contact me at the information below.
