| "I just wanted to touch base with you and give you an update on my whereabouts. After finishing up with school in January I was on the job hunt for a few months (which could be a bit frustrating at times to say the least). However, I’ve landed my first job here in Anchorage, Alaska! I’m working as an Assistant Environmental Health Consultant for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium which is a tribal organization that partners with the Federal Government to work for all of Alaska’s Native populations. I have one week of work behind me and like it quite well thus far; it’s very much like international work. I am going to be working a lot with remote villages in efforts to promote safe drinking water systems, sanitation and hygiene practices to combat the spread of infectious disease in Alaska’s Native populations. It seems that I will be travelling often and will be able to see parts of Alaska that many people who live here their entire life never see.
