"Director of Environmental Health
The Eau Claire City-County Health Department seeks an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated individual to fill the Director of Environmental Health position. The Department provides a full range of environmental health services for a population of approximately 100,000 in beautiful western Wisconsin. The Environmental Health Division is a collaborative partner with the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire’s Nationally Accredited Environmental Public Health undergraduate program. The Environmental Health Division provides over 50 program areas to the residents and visitors of Eau Claire County in areas such as Housing, Food and Water Safety, and Solid Waste Management. Responsibilities include providing agency and community leadership in environmental health promotion, prevention, and protection including oversight of the environmental health and public health laboratory programs, annual budget preparation, participation in agency policy development, strategic planning and public health preparedness; supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff, and grant writing.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in environmental health or public health with a major emphasis in environmental health; preparation in principles of administration or supervision, five years’ experience preferred in environmental health practice; demonstrated skills in leadership, collaboration, communication and promotion of effective interdisciplinary team work; current or eligible for registration as a sanitarian under Wisconsin Administrative Rule.
Hiring salary range $73,128 - $92,879 per year. Excellent benefit package.
