While there will be ample opportunities for parents and students to interact during the day, there is a separate program for parents in the morning of each of the one-day Orientation sessions. Parents will interact with university staff members as well as other parents while learning about both the academic aspects of the university and student services. We will answer your questions about safety on campus, health services available, parking, counseling, etc.
In the afternoon both parents and students will have an opportunity to learn more about housing and residential life, dining options, career planning, financial aid and computing.
You will end the day by touring your student's room if he/she is living in the residence halls.
If you are unable to attend Orientation with your student, make certain that your student brings home a parent binder for you.
