Orientation for Freshmen

Succeeding in College

We are excited to have you as a new student at UW-Eau Claire. This page is designed to give you a few tips to help you succeed, based on the previous experience of our students.

Tips on Being Successful

Getting Help

Where to go for help is like a campus "yellow pages." If you don't know where to go for help, it is a good place to start.

Planning Your Education

Planning your education should include much more than choosing courses. The web pages below can help you think more broadly about your academic future and take advantage of all that UW-Eau Claire has to offer.

Academic Advising is your index to all the academic information on the UW-Eau Claire web site. You can link to all academic departments, to the catalogue, etc.

Career Services offers a variety of services to help you choose your major, get an internship, prepare for graduate school or find a job once your graduate.

The Center for International Education can get you dreaming about far away places like Australia or Thailand.

Multicultural Affairs provides support for students of color and to the campus in general regarding positive intercultural relationships.

The National Student Exchange offers opportunities to study at another U.S. university for a semester.

The Service Learning Office lists dozens of opportunities to get involved with the community. Even more opportunities are available on the CALL (Community Action and Life Long Learning) web site.

The Academic Skills Center can help you improve your study skills and time management, as well as tutor you in specific classes. Check out the large number of on-line resources that you can use even prior to arriving on campus.

Excellence. Our Measure. Our Motto. Our Goal.
