AMOUNT: One award at $500.00 AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The Heinrich-Dahlheimer Accounting Scholarship will be awarded during the second semester of each academic year. Applicants must be admitted to the UW-Eau Claire College of Business with a declared major in Accounting, grade point average of at least 3.0, have junior standing at the time the scholarship is received and successfully completed Accounting 301 with at least a B grade. The committee will also consider the following in reviewing applications: participated in university, college, department, community and/or volunteer organizations, demonstrated potential for leadership as displayed by activities while in college, having performed university studies outside the United States (i.e. study abroad), desire to enter the accounting profession with a preference to public accounting, and jobs held which were applicable toward future employment within the accounting profession. If a tie appears in the selection of a candidate, the award will be given to the student with the highest overall grade point average at that time. The award shall not be divided and given to two or more candidates.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Contact department APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications become available the week before spring break and are due the week after spring break.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The selection of the candidate will be made by the Department of Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee.SELECTION DEADLINE: NOTIFICATION: The chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.SPECIAL NOTES: The Heinrich-Dahlheimer Accounting Scholarship was created by Jane and Joe Heinrich with the support of KPMG Peat Marwick. The recipient is expected to write a note of appreciation to Jane and Joe Heinrich and deliver it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214. |
