Foundation Scholarships

Recipients must be continuing sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in Communication (organizational communication or public communication) at UW-Eau Claire who have actively participated in programs, activities and work related to the Communication field. Students who have excelled in the public speaking courses in Communication also should be given consideration. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. Financial need should not be a consideration for selection. Recipients are encouraged to reapply for the following year.

Applications are available from the Communication and Journalism Department Office.

A committee of Department of Communication and Journalism faculty will select the recipient.

The recipient will be sent a notification letter from the chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

A letter of gratitude addressed to Mrs. Geraldine Wolfarth should be submitted to the Department of Communication and Journalism Department program assistant. The winner of this award is expected to attend the Department of Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
