ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Student must be accepted as a student at UW-Eau Claire who will be a nursing major. Preference for a student from Northwestern Wisconsin, open to freshman through senior students. Selection is based on community service and involvement which takes precedence over academic achievement. Recipient must have significant financial need as determined and the scholarship is to be used for direct school-related expenses: tuition, room and board.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application Forms: Students who are admitted to the nursing program at UW-Eau Claire will receive an email in late February/early March when the scholarship application is ready and available. The email will include the path to the online application forms. PART ONE is filled online and submitted electronically. PART TWO (the essay and activities form) is filled out online and printed off, signed and submitted to the Dean’s Assistant Office, Nursing 103, by the deadline. Only one essay can be submitted. The essay must address the eligibility criteria for each of the scholarships that they wish to apply for. Financial Need: For scholarships that indicate “financial need required” a FAFSA Financial Aid form must be filled out and there must be some level of financial need.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Second Monday in March
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Applications will be reviewed by the Nursing Scholarship Committee, which identifies the recipient and recommends the candidate to the Dean.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Prior to the Nursing scholarship dinner
NOTIFICATION:
Recipients will receive written notification from the Nursing Dean, who will submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
